# Pause, disconnect or remove Super Cache

> Stop edge caching for a while, remove it from Cloudflare cleanly, or uninstall AjaxPress without leaving the cache behind. (Pro)

There are three ways to stop Super Cache, depending on whether it's for a moment or for good.

## Pause caching

On **Settings → AjaxPress → Cache**, turn on **Pause caching** in the status panel. Cloudflare stops serving cached pages straight away, and every request goes to your server, as if Super Cache weren't there. Everything stays set up.

Turn it off again to resume. Pages are cached again as visitors request them.

Use it while you:

- make a lot of changes and want visitors to see each one at once;
- troubleshoot a problem, to see whether the cache is involved.

## Disconnect

In the status panel, click **Disconnect** and confirm. AjaxPress removes the Worker and its route from your Cloudflare zone. Your site is then served by your own server again. Nothing on your site is deleted.

The Cache tab then shows **Cloudflare account connected**, so you can deploy again with one click. To also remove AjaxPress's access to your Cloudflare account, click **Disconnect** on that line and confirm. AjaxPress then forgets its Cloudflare credentials, and you'd approve it again to set up Super Cache.

## Before you deactivate or delete AjaxPress

> [!WARNING]
> **Disconnect Super Cache first.** Deactivating or deleting AjaxPress or AjaxPress Pro doesn't remove the Worker from Cloudflare. It would keep serving cached pages, and they would no longer clear when you edit your site.

If you've already deactivated or deleted the plugins, remove the Worker in Cloudflare yourself:

1. Sign in to Cloudflare and open your domain.
2. Go to **Workers Routes**, and delete the route for your site (`example.com/*`) that points to the AjaxPress worker.
3. Optionally, delete the worker script under **Workers & Pages**.
4. Go to **Caching → Configuration** and click **Purge Everything**.

Or reactivate AjaxPress and AjaxPress Pro, disconnect as above, then deactivate them again.

## Moving to a new domain

Disconnect on the old site before you move. After the move, [connect again](https://arraystory.com/docs/ajaxpress/connect-cloudflare/) from the new site, so the Worker is set up for the new domain.
