Moving to the AjaxPress Pro plugin
On this page
Until now, AjaxPress Pro’s features were built into the free AjaxPress plugin and unlocked by your license. From AjaxPress 2.4.4, releasing on 15 October 2026, they move into a separate plugin, AjaxPress Pro. This page is for customers who already have an active Pro license.
What you need to do
Install and activate the AjaxPress Pro plugin before you update to AjaxPress 2.4.4. That’s all.
AjaxPress 2.4.3 shows a notice in your dashboard to help: “From AjaxPress 2.4.4, … Pro features need the separate AjaxPress Pro plugin, installed and activated.”
- If AjaxPress Pro isn’t installed, the notice’s Download AjaxPress Pro button downloads the plugin for your license. Upload it under Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, then activate it.
- If it’s installed but not active, the button activates it.
Once AjaxPress Pro is active, the notice disappears. You can also download AjaxPress Pro from arraystory.com/account at any time.
What stays the same
- Your license stays active. AjaxPress Pro reads the license you already activated. It doesn’t use up another activation, and there’s no key to re-enter.
- Your settings stay as they are. Your loader, prefetch, Media Players, transitions and Super Cache by Cloudflare keep working without a change.
- Your visitors see no difference, before or after.
Timeline
| Version | Pro features come from |
|---|---|
| 2.4.3 and earlier | The free AjaxPress plugin, with your license. AjaxPress Pro is optional. |
| 2.4.4 and later (from 15 October 2026) | The AjaxPress Pro plugin only |
If you update to 2.4.4 without AjaxPress Pro, nothing breaks. Your site keeps working with the free features, and the Pro ones come back as soon as you install and activate AjaxPress Pro. Your settings are kept in the meantime.
Why the change? Plugins on wordpress.org must not contain locked features. Moving Pro into its own plugin keeps the free plugin fully free, and lets both update on their own schedule.
Questions
Do I pay again? No. Your existing license covers AjaxPress Pro.
Do I need to deactivate the old Pro features? No. There’s nothing to remove. The free plugin simply stops including them in 2.4.4.
I manage many client sites. Install AjaxPress Pro on each site that uses Pro features before updating those sites to 2.4.4. Each site keeps its current license activation.
