A tour of the settings screen
On this page
All of AjaxPress is configured on one screen: Settings → AjaxPress. This page shows you around it. For every setting and its default, see the settings reference.
The tabs
| Tab | What’s there |
|---|---|
| Basic | The main switch, Enable SPA for Frontend, and the navigation options: prefetch, admin bypass, keyboard reload, login handling, and SPA for the dashboard (before WordPress 7.0) |
| Media Players | Auto-detect, the Media Players list and Check my player: keep audio and video playing across pages |
| Animations | The loading indicator, the loading cursor, Scroll to Top Smoothly and page transitions, with a live preview |
| Cache | Super Cache by Cloudflare |
| Advanced | Exclude Links, Custom CSS, and the Tools to export, import and reset your settings |
| License | Your AjaxPress Pro license, plans and pricing |
| Help | Pinned at the bottom of the sidebar: a guided tour, video tutorials, a developer reference, troubleshooting tips, the changelog, and feedback |
Settings marked with a Pro badge need AjaxPress Pro. Without it you can see them, but not change them.
Saving your changes
When you change a setting, Save Settings and Discard appear at the top of the screen.
- Save Settings saves every change you’ve made, on any tab. You can also press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac).
- Discard puts everything back the way it was when you last saved.
- If you try to leave with unsaved changes, AjaxPress asks whether to Save & Continue or Discard them.
Two switches on the Basic tab work differently, because they change the screen itself:
- Enable SPA for Frontend saves the moment you flip it.
- Enable SPA for Admin Dashboard saves and then reloads the settings screen. (WordPress 7.0 and newer don’t show it.)
After saving, clear your page cache (your caching plugin, your host’s cache, or Cloudflare) so visitors get the new settings straight away.
The live preview
The Animations tab has a preview panel beside the settings. It shows your loader, cursor and page transition as you change them, before you save. On a phone, tap the Preview button at the bottom of the screen to open it.
Take the tour
New to AjaxPress, or want a refresher? Open Help → Getting Started and choose Quick or Extended tour. It highlights the main settings one at a time and explains what each one does.
Search the help
On the Help tab, click Search or press Ctrl+/ (Cmd+/ on a Mac) to search the tutorials, the developer reference and the troubleshooting tips.
The diagnostics bar
The first time you open the settings, a bar asks whether you’ll share diagnostic data with us. Choose Allow or Deny. Nothing is shared unless you allow it, and you can change your answer under Help → Feedback at any time. Privacy and data lists exactly what is sent.
